World Biogas Expo 2026: The Future of Biogas and Anaerobic Digestion in Birmingham

On July 8 and 9, 2026, Birmingham will host one of the world’s most important events dedicated to the biogas sector: the World Biogas Expo, a key event for companies, professionals, investors, and institutions operating in the fields of renewable energy and biomass valorization. The event will take place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and will be organized by the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA).

An International Event Dedicated to Innovation

The World Biogas Expo is the only international trade fair entirely dedicated to anaerobic digestion and biogas. Over the years, it has become a key meeting point for the entire supply chain, attracting thousands of visitors from around the world. The 2026 edition will feature over 100 exhibitors and numerous international speakers who will present the latest technological innovations, investment opportunities, and development prospects for the sector.

Biogas and Sustainability: A Global Challenge

The growth of biogas and biomethane production represents one of the most effective strategies for accelerating the energy transition and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through anaerobic digestion, agricultural residues, agri-food byproducts, livestock waste, and organic waste can be transformed into renewable energy, contributing to the development of an increasingly circular economy.

The Expo will address key topics such as plant efficiency, optimization of biological processes, digestate valorization, biomethane production, and the integration of biogas into national energy systems.

An Opportunity for Networking and Discussion

In addition to the exhibition area, the World Biogas Expo will offer technical conferences and in-depth sessions dedicated to market trends, energy policies, and new technologies for the sector. The “Engine Room” and “World Biogas Summit” spaces will allow participants to interact with international experts, researchers, and institutional representatives.

The event also represents a valuable opportunity to develop new business partnerships and gain first-hand insights into the solutions developed by the industry’s most innovative companies.

Looking to the future

The 2026 edition of the World Biogas Expo confirms the strategic role of biogas in the transition to a more sustainable energy system. For companies, technicians, and supply chain operators, it will be a unique opportunity to learn about emerging trends, explore new technologies, and contribute to the development of an increasingly dynamic and innovation-driven sector.

Palmieri Group follows the evolution of the renewable energy sector and biomass management technologies with interest, recognizing biogas as one of the pillars of Europe’s future circular economy.
